We are a living history and re-enacting unit based out of Gettysburg, Pa. We attend many various events ranging from main-stream re-enactments, living history, as well as parades. We fall under the command of 1st Regiment, Federal Volunteer Brigade under Gen. R. Palese. Our intention is to keep alive the memory of the brave men and women who suffered and sacrificed much in the War Between the States.

On July 24, 1861 Governor Andrew Curtin of Pennsylvania commissioned Colonel Oliver H. Rippey and ordered him to raise the 61ST PA Volunteer Infantry to meet the needs of the Union army to quell the rebellion.
